How We Work

A structured, transparent process from first conversation to final recommendations.

01

Define the Question

Every research project starts with a clear research question. We work with you to scope the problem, align on objectives, and agree on what success looks like.

02

Literature & Landscape Review

Before we collect anything new, we review what already exists. We scan academic literature, government reports, and sector knowledge to build on what is already known.

03

Data Collection

We design and execute data collection using the right methods for your context, whether that is surveys, interviews, focus groups, administrative data, or a combination.

04

Analysis & Synthesis

We analyze data rigorously and synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights. We separate what the data says from what we recommend.

05

Strategic Recommendations

Research without strategy is just information. We translate findings into concrete recommendations that are grounded in evidence and feasible in your context.

06

Knowledge Translation

We produce clear, accessible reports for every audience, whether that is a government funder, a community partner, or the general public.

Real-World Use Cases

What research and strategy actually looks like when it is built for public good.

Government

Digital Service Needs Assessment

A comprehensive assessment of how Canadians currently access public services, where the gaps are, and what digital tools would have the greatest impact.

Public Sector & Non-Profit

AI Readiness & Feasibility Study

Before investing in AI, organizations need to understand their data maturity, technical capacity, and risk landscape. We produce honest feasibility assessments.

Community & Government

Newcomer Service Gap Analysis

Identifying the specific barriers newcomers face in accessing settlement services, benefits, and public programs, and recommending evidence-based interventions.

Non-Profit & Government

Program Evaluation

Rigorous evaluation of existing programs to determine what is working, what is not, and how to improve outcomes for the people being served.

Government

Policy Research & Brief

Clear, evidence-based policy briefs that translate complex research into actionable recommendations for decision-makers.

Community & Government

Digital Equity Research

Understanding who is being left behind in the digital economy and what interventions are most effective at closing the gap.

Common Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most often.

How long does a typical research project take?

It depends on scope. A focused needs assessment or feasibility study can take 4 to 8 weeks. A comprehensive program evaluation or multi-phase research project typically takes 3 to 6 months. We always define timelines clearly in our proposals.

Do you work with communities directly, or only with organizations?

Both. We believe the best research includes the voices of the people most affected. We design participatory research processes that center community members, not just institutional stakeholders.

Can you help us with a grant application that requires a research component?

Yes. We regularly support organizations in designing the research and evaluation components of funding applications, including developing logic models, evaluation frameworks, and data collection plans.

What if the research shows our current approach is not working?

That is exactly when research is most valuable. We deliver honest findings, even when they are uncomfortable. Our goal is to help you make better decisions, not to validate existing ones.

Do you produce reports in French as well as English?

Yes. As a Canadian organization, we are committed to bilingual delivery where required. We can produce reports, summaries, and community materials in both official languages.
